Holter Monitor

It is used for:

• Detect or determine the risk of irregular heart beats (arrhythmias) or palpitations (fast heart beats)
• Evaluate chest pain that cannot be reproduced with exercise testing
• Evaluate other signs and symptoms that can be heart related e.g tiredness, dizziness or fainting episodes
• Assess risk for future heart-related events. in certain conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickened heart walls), after heart attack leading to weakness on the left side of the heart
• Monitor treatment for arrhythmia
